Merry Christmas 2010

Merry Christmas everyone. I was having fun Christmas eve messing around with some gouache, painting characters from the Nutcracker.

Short Screen shots

Here are some shots from a 3 minute short I made in flash last term. It sure is amazing what you can get done in 10 weeks. The short almost ready to upload, I just need to make a few small edits to the timing, so hopefully I'll have time to address it in the next week or so.

Illustration and Doodles

Here are some pieces I did for an illustration class last term. I had a lot of fun working with traditional media, which I don't usually use for finished art. The girl and the hermit crab was done in water color and the Jungle Book scene in gouache. The other page is just a collection of doodles that that I found particularly fun. I like the adam and eve.

Turnip Knights

While in school it can be hard to do some art that's personal or just for fun. So over this break I enjoyed myself by drawing a few fun characters while I have the chance. But alas, I must head back for the fall term.

Waterfall

Waterfall design done for a game production at school. We were able to work in all areas, like characters, props, vehicles, but the environments were my favorite to work on.

Prop Design

A few terms ago in a concept design class, we were assigned to create an instrument for World of Warcraft. Although I don't play the game, the style was fun and playful and I was pretty pleased with what I came up with.

Swamp Critter

I took a concept design class last term where we had to create a nocturnal swamp creature. The creature also had to have the ability to fly if needed, so mine floats on swamp bubbles. I think it kind of looks Jim Henson-ish.
